About Testosterone, Bioavailable

Bioavailable testosterone includes free testosterone plus the fraction loosely bound to albumin, representing the roughly 50% of total testosterone that can actually enter tissues. It provides a more accurate picture of androgen status than total testosterone, especially when SHBG is abnormally high or low. Bioavailable testosterone is the most clinically relevant measure for men with borderline total testosterone and symptoms.
