Let's analyze your Thyroglobulin levels

A few questions help us personalize your report.

About Thyroglobulin

Thyroglobulin is a protein produced by thyroid follicular cells, serving as the precursor for thyroid hormones T3 and T4. After thyroid cancer surgery, thyroglobulin functions as a tumor marker — rising levels signal possible cancer recurrence. Thyroglobulin must always be interpreted alongside thyroglobulin antibodies, which can interfere with measurement.

Also known as: Tg, Thyroglobulin, Thyroglobuline, Tiroglobulina, 갑상선글로불린, 甲状腺球蛋白

What does your Thyroglobulin result mean?

High thyroglobulin in a post-thyroidectomy patient strongly suggests thyroid cancer recurrence. In intact thyroid patients, elevated thyroglobulin indicates thyroid inflammation, goiter, or hyperthyroidism.

Optimal vs. normal range

Standard range for intact thyroid is 1.5-38 ng/mL. After thyroid cancer surgery, the target is undetectable. Thyroglobulin must be interpreted alongside TgAb, which can interfere with measurement.
