About Uric Acid

Uric acid is a metabolic waste product formed when the body breaks down purines found in certain foods and from normal cell turnover. Elevated levels cause gout — painful crystal deposits in joints — but high uric acid also independently drives kidney stones, blood pressure elevation, and cardiovascular inflammation even without any gout symptoms. Diet, hydration, and reducing fructose intake are the most effective levers for lowering it.
