About Color (Urine)
Urine colour ranges from pale yellow (well-hydrated) to dark amber (concentrated, dehydrated) and provides a quick visual screen for hydration status and potential pathology. Red or pink urine can indicate haematuria, haemoglobinuria, or myoglobinuria (muscle breakdown); orange urine may signal bilirubin excretion from liver disease; green-blue urine is rare and typically drug-induced. While urine colour alone is non-specific, significant deviations from the expected pale-to-medium yellow spectrum warrant dipstick and microscopic follow-up.
